Curbco is seeking highly motivated, dependable, and hardworking people to join our team as a
Skid Steer / Backhoe Operator This is a full-time - year round position.
Job Summary:
Operates equipment (backhoes, skid steer loaders, trenchers, etc.) used in construction, landscape construction, and utility maintenance projects
Responsibilities
- Performs all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment.
- May be required to operate various pieces of equipment as needed.
- Provides support for crews during all phases of construction activity.
- Reads and interprets instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.
- Loads flatbed truck, dump truck, or pickup truck with excavated soils or building materials such as stone, sand, aggregate, or asphalt.
- Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements.
Requirements:
- 2-years experience is preferred
- Good communication skills
- Good driving record is required
- Chauffeur’s driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 2-weeks of starting the position
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to understand and follow all safety precautions
- Ability to read and understand work orders and site maps
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Valid chauffer’s License & a Medical DOT Card required (needed to be able to move equipment around):
-- If you don’t already have a chauffer’s license, within 2 weeks of your start date, you will be required to obtain one.
-- DOT Card, if you don’t have one, you’ll need to complete and pass a DOT physical to obtain a medical card. Curbco will pay to obtain this for you.
* Year-round work, we work in all types of weather. On-call schedule during winter months for snow removal.
* Candidates with a CDL A would be a plus.
Additional Position Details & Offerings:
* Hourly pay is dependent on experience
* Full-time, 40 hours per week; overtime will need to be worked on an as-needed basis
* April – November, day shift hours with core working hours starting between 6:00/7:00 AM going until 3:00/4:00 PM
* During the winter months, work schedule is on-call with hours worked being dictated by what the weather is doing
