American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Intermediate Care Unit night shift position at an acute care hospital in Alton, IL, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.

Work setting is a 158-bed acute care hospital in an Intermediate Care/Telemetry unit

Night shift schedule: 7p–7:30a (3x12-hour shifts)

Patient ratios of 1:5–6
-
Every other weekend is required
-
On-call is required for this position

Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required

Epic is the EMR used; experience with Epic is required
-
12-week contract (approximately 3 months)

Active IL RN license required; MO state license must be valid at time of consideration (pending IL license may be acceptable — note must be included)

Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 1–2 years of RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; candidates within 75 miles are subject to a local rate

Navy scrubs are required

No parking cost at the facility

RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation

Block scheduling is not available for this position

Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler

Travelers may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
