A sophisticated legal practice is seeking a talented mid-to-senior-level Associate Attorney to handle a diverse mix of business law, real estate, complex litigation, transactional matters, and select mass tort cases.
This opportunity is designed for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, direct client communication, sophisticated matters, and greater autonomy without an arbitrary minimum billable-hour requirement.
The Opportunity
- The Associate Attorney will manage a varied portfolio of business, real estate, litigation, and transactional matters with increasing independence. Responsibilities include:
- Handling business and real estate disputes from pre-litigation through trial, arbitration, mediation, or settlement
- Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and other litigation filings
- Conducting legal research and developing persuasive written analysis
- Appearing at court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, purchase agreements, leases, operating agreements, corporate governance documents, and related instruments
- Advising clients regarding business formation, corporate governance, commercial transactions, risk management, and real estate matters
- Assisting with complex mass tort litigation and other significant disputes
- Communicating directly with clients and providing practical, business-minded legal guidance
- Developing case and transaction strategy while identifying legal and commercial risks
- Managing deadlines, deliverables, and the forward movement of assigned matters
What You Bring
- Active California Bar license in good standing
- At least three years of relevant legal experience preferred
- Interest and experience in business and real estate law
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Experience independently managing matters, deadlines, and client relationships
- Meaningful pre-trial litigation experience
- Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and work independently
- Proactive, solutions-oriented approach to legal work
- Trial experience is a plus but is not required
Compensation & Benefits
