JOB DUTIES:
-Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identify worn and damaged parts.
-Perform routine preventive maintenance and make repairs to equipment. Brakes, power and drive trains, electrical, suspension, air conditioning, fuel, emission, steering hydraulics.
-Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
-Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements for inspection.
-Contain costs by evaluating service and parts options.
-Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, staying current in the field by reading technical and regulations publications.
-Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring value add to job accomplishments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
-High School graduate
-Post secondary vocation education preferred
-3 to 4 years of diesel mechanic experience
-PA state inspection license, Class 7
-Class A CDL license preferred
-Minimum tool requirement
-Experience with diagnostic software preferred
-Experience with hydraulic systems preferred
-Good communication skills; ability to effectively work with a broad range of people
-Adept with technology; familiar with electronic scan tool

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
