3rd Shift Production Supervisor – Plastic Blow Molding

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to lead operations within a plastic blow molding manufacturing department. This position is ideal for a hands-on manufacturing leader with previous supervisory experience, strong plastic processing knowledge, and the technical ability to troubleshoot production and quality issues.
The Production Supervisor will oversee employees, equipment, materials, quality, safety, and production performance throughout the shift. This individual must be comfortable making decisions independently, coaching employees, addressing production problems, and maintaining communication with other shifts and management.
Previous plastic processing experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise machine operators and daily blow molding production activities
- Coordinate employees, equipment, and materials to meet production schedules
- Assign work and maintain an effective, productive workforce
- Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate production priorities
- Enforce company policies, procedures, safety rules, and work standards
- Monitor production processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety requirements are achieved
- Troubleshoot blow molding equipment and make necessary process adjustments
- Stop or adjust machinery when quality, safety, equipment, or material concerns arise
- Review operator quality-control documentation and shift records
- Ensure SPC systems are properly utilized
- Maintain compliance with applicable ISO procedures
- Complete shift logs, production documentation, and required reports
- Train employees on machine operation, color changes, procedures, and production processes
- Coach employees and address performance or operational concerns
- Ensure proper Lockout/Tagout procedures are followed
- Provide material handling support when necessary
- Coordinate staffing and approve overtime based on production requirements
- Communicate effectively with employees, other supervisors, management, and manufacturing support departments
- Maintain housekeeping and organization throughout the production area
- Support emergency and safety procedures as required
Required Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing supervisory or production leadership experience
- Plastic processing experience required
- Blow molding experience strongly preferred
- Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to identify and resolve problems involving employees, equipment, materials, production, and quality
- Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing specifications
- Experience using quality-control and measuring instruments
- Basic math skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain effective and make decisions in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong understanding of Lockout/Tagout procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required
- Availability for weekend on-call responsibilities

Experience or certification in the following areas is highly desirable:
- Forklift operation
- CPR
- First Aid
- AED
- Bloodborne pathogen procedures
- SPC and statistical process control
- ISO manufacturing procedures
- Employee training and development
- Plastic blow molding equipment and processes
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally maneuver materials weighing up to 75 pounds
- Stand for extended periods
- Climb ladders and work at various heights
- Perform overhead work as necessary
- Wear required PPE, including hearing and eye protection
- Work safely around active manufacturing machinery and material-handling equipment
Pay: From $31.00 per hour
