Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions and document all medication activities in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, utilizing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Support residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments by helping with meal preparation and light housekeeping tasks like cleaning.
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts safely to transfer residents with mobility challenges.
- Engage in resident-centered social activities and support emotional well-being through compassionate interaction.
Experience
- Prior experience working in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or retirement communities is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care in home or community settings.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care best practices.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documenting care activities accurately.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive may be preferred for home & community care roles.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is a plus; ongoing training in medication administration and behavior management is advantageous. Pay: $18.42 - $18.50 per hour
