Caregiver / Direct Care Staff – Assisted Living
Hummingbird Assisted Living is seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated caregivers to join our team. We are a small, family-owned assisted living home that provides personalized care in a warm, home-like environment. Our caregivers play an important role in helping our residents maintain their dignity, independence, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
- Safely transfer residents using gait belts, Hoyer lifts, and sit-to-stand lifts (training provided if needed).
- Assist with meal preparation, serving meals, and encouraging hydration.
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition.
- Document resident care accurately and communicate with the care team.
- Provide companionship while treating every resident with dignity, kindness, and respect.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and resident rights.
Qualifications
- Previous caregiving, CNA, home care, or assisted living experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
- Reliable, dependable, and compassionate.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely.
- Current CPR certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass a background check and meet all state employment requirements.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Full-time and Part-time positions available.
- Weekend and holiday availability may be required.
