Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. Responsibilities
- Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), Stick, TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and pipe welding to join metal components accurately.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and specifications.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, and fitting metal parts prior to welding operations.
- Execute pipe threading, pipe fitting, and pipe installation tasks for plumbing and sprinkler systems in compliance with NFPA standards and safety regulations.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to assemble, cut, weld, solder, and maintain metal structures or components.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to fire sprinkler fitting standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of welds for quality assurance and troubleshoot issues during fabrication or installation processes.
- Support maintenance activities on existing structures or systems as needed on construction sites or in fabrication shops.
Skills
- Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG, FCAW, Stick, TIG, and pipe welding.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, construction plans, and technical drawings with precision.
- Mechanical knowledge related to pipefitting, pipe threading, assembly, and fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and pipe installation techniques.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to fabrication dimensions, and material estimations.
- Knowledge of safety regulations such as NFPA standards for fire sprinkler fitting and general construction site safety protocols.
- Experience with interpreting technical drawings for construction or maintenance projects.
- Ability to work effectively on construction sites with a focus on safety protocol adherence.
- Construction experience involving assembly, maintenance tasks, or fire sprinkler system installation is highly desirable.
Additional responsibilities would include:
- Verifying shop tickets, heat numbers, and rough castings to ensure the correct parts are being welded.
- Inspecting finished work to confirm it meets blueprint tolerances and quality standards.
- Logging all welded parts in the appropriate ledger.
- Operating machinery as required.
- Performing grinding and de-burring tasks.
- Notifying supervision of any known or suspected issues with equipment, drawings, or parts.
- Exercising care in the use of company equipment and tools.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work area and adhering to all safety programs and practices.
- Properly shutting down equipment to reduce energy and water consumption.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Pay: $23.00 - $29.12 per hour
