Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards. Duties
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile balance sheets, general ledger accounts, and bank statements regularly to ensure data integrity.
- Prepare financial reports, conduct account analysis, and assist with budget preparation to support strategic decision-making.
- Utilize various financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Paychex, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Office tools for efficient accounting operations.
- Handle confidential information with discretion while maintaining compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) standards.
- Support payroll management activities using systems like ADP or UltiPro and assist with tax filings and audits as needed.
- Conduct account reconciliation and balance sheet review to ensure accuracy across all financial statements.
- Assist with governmental and non-profit accounting requirements when applicable, ensuring adherence to specific regulations.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel data analysis skills including spreadsheets management.
- Familiarity with financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Experience working with payroll software like ADP or UltiPro and understanding of payroll processes.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and SOX compliance requirements for internal controls.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong organizational abilities for data entry and account reconciliation.
- Customer service orientation with effective communication skills for collaborating across departments.
