Providence Country Day School, an independent school serving students in grades PK-12, seeks a dynamic, versatile educator and administrator to serve as Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. The Director of DEIB will coordinate closely with the academic/student life team to provide student support around areas of DEIB, develop events and other programming opportunities for the school community, design workshops for student and faculty learning, and collaborate regularly as part of the Administrative Leadership Team.
The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to fostering understanding and effective communication in a school climate where differences in identity and culture are valued and supported. This educator is willing and able to speak authentically about the imperative for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging in schools, recognize how identity impacts our work, and communicate authentically and collaborate with colleagues, students, and families.
The position combines with other school responsibilities, follows a ten-month academic calendar, and is exempt from overtime consideration. Specifically, this role includes teaching 2-3 courses in the Upper School (specific courses dependent on candidate background), managing an advisory group, and leading other extracurricular activities as appropriate given candidate background. Regular clock hours extend beyond the normal school-day and often vary unpredictably according to student behavior and community need.
