American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Hawaii, requiring a HI RN license and at least 1 year of acute care experience.

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting, combining Step-Down ICU and telemetry beds in a 15-bed unit
-
Patient ratio is 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU
-
Primary nursing care responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar checks
-
Equipment used includes Meditech (EMR), Pyxis medication dispensing, BiPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring
-
Varied shift schedule, working 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
-
No on-call responsibilities

Floating required to all acute units in-house, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
-
Active HI RN license required by start of assignment

Current BLS/BCLS required
-
Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year

Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred

ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred

All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning Employee Health appointment
