The essential duties of this position are:
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections on ground support equipment in compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and manufacturer standards.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of all maintenance, inspections, repairs, and related activities.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while taking responsibility for the quality and safety of completed work.
- Identify, report, and address equipment discrepancies or abnormal conditions, including implementing lockout/tagout procedures when necessary.
- Manage and support the preventive maintenance program, required inspections, and operational readiness of GSE assets.
- Coordinate GSE inventory, purchasing, budgeting, and future equipment needs, and provide fleet support through travel as required.
Skills, abilities, education and experience needed to be eligible for this position are:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and minimum five years maintenance experience, two of which can be applicable college/technical training.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical information from maintenance manuals, wiring schematics, structural repair manuals, and written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions; prepare routine reports and correspondence and communicate effectively with employees, customers, and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills, including the application of algebra and geometry concepts
- Ability to use sound judgment in a highly regulated environment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational needs.
- Experience maintaining aviation ground support equipment, including de-ice trucks, air-start carts, power carts, pushback tugs, and similar equipment.
- Experience working on medium- and light-duty trucks, small engines, and related mechanical systems.
- Fabrication and welding experience preferred.
- Strong manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail required.
Certifications and licenses applicable to this position are:
- Current US Driver License
- Current Passport preferred
- ASE Certifications preferred
Additional considerations:
- Must provide and maintain the hand tools necessary to perform assigned duties.
- Must be flexible to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, including extended periods away from home.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally without restrictions, including access to foreign military bases as required.
- Post-conditional offer of employment drug test and background investigation is required.
- Applicants must be able to hold Secure Identification Display Access badge and submit to RapBack verification.
Random drug testing is required of all Lynden Air Cargo employees.
