Overnight Attendant (ACTIVE Overnight Shift – Not a Sleeping Position)
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Part-Time | Overnight Shift 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Shifts Needed (potential for additional days): Tuesdays & Thursdays
IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ FIRST
This is NOT a sleeping position.
While there may be brief rest periods, this role requires you to be awake, alert, and actively caring for dogs throughout the entire overnight shift. If you are looking for a position where you can sleep most of the night, this is not the right role for you.

Who You Are
An Experienced Dog Handler
You understand dog behavior, can read body language, and respond calmly and confidently to dogs of all breeds and sizes.
Comfortable with Cleaning
You don’t shy away from poop, pee, vomit, or messes as you see them as valuable health indicators.
Reliable & Detail-Oriented
You show up on time, follow checklists, and take ownership of your responsibilities especially when working independently.
Self-Motivated & Independent
This is an unsupervised overnight position. You must be comfortable working alone, staying alert, and managing responsibilities without reminders.
Adaptable & Willing to Learn
You’re flexible, open to feedback, and eager to grow with a fast-moving small business.
What You’ll Be Doing (Active Overnight Care)
- Conduct regular overnight checks on all dogs
- Take dogs out for scheduled potty breaks
- Perform health and behavior checks
- Respond appropriately to barking, anxiety, accidents, or medical concerns
- Complete extensive cleaning and sanitation duties
- Monitor cage-free boarders during bedtime routines and overnight hours
- Document observations and incidents clearly and accurately
- Maintain a calm, safe, and secure facility at all times
Sleep is allowed and should not be expected. Attentiveness and responsiveness are required throughout the shift.
Additional Job Details

Requirements (Must Haves)
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have reliable transportation (required for overnight emergencies)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must have professional dog-handling experience
(Dog daycare, boarding, kennel tech, vet tech, dog walking, training, shelter/rescue work, pet sitting, etc. — owning dogs does not count)
- Must be comfortable working alone overnight
