Job Summary
This position performs service activities for customers and/or sales and rental fleet equipment, with a primary focus on small engine equipment including (but not limited to) generators, compressors, light towers, and other company machinery.
Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.

Communicate with internal and external customers in a manner that promotes a positive relationship.

Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions, with an emphasis on diesel engines.

Write service reports that accurately document diagnosis and repairs performed.

Possess basic computer knowledge and ability to use service software required in position.

Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and timecards in an accurate and timely manner.

Perform inspections and all check-in procedures.

Complete pre-delivery inspections and ensure all requested items are installed correctly.
- Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.

Follow manufacturer and company service guidelines and procedures to ensure quality work and to preserve and document component failure information for accurate failure analysis.

Project a positive professional image with customers.

Develop and maintain a strong customer service relationship with all customer contacts.

Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

Keep service area clean and orderly.

Properly track time on jobs to ensure correct billing.

Required Skills and Abilities

Small engine repair experience required (gas and light diesel engines).

Experience with compact equipment and rental fleet maintenance preferred.

Diesel and Hydraulic Repair Experience and Related Certifications.

Compact Construction Equipment Repair Experience.

Able to Operate Machinery safely.
- Knowledge of industry-related safety regulations.

Able to take instruction and work well with others.

Able to work with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience
-
Technical/vocational training in small engine repair, power equipment, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience in small engine repair, preferably in a rental, construction, or outdoor power equipment environment.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, stand, lie, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Must be able to lift and pull 50lbs regularly and up to 100lbs occasionally.

Manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools or make adjustments and repairs.

Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects.

Must be able to hear well enough to test sounds and identify functioning level of equipment.

Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.

Must be able to perform the physical duties of the job.
