Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Furniture & Upholstery Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing, reupholstering, and restoring a variety of furniture pieces, including sofas, chairs, and custom upholstery projects. Your expertise will ensure high-quality craftsmanship, precise attention to detail, and timely completion of all tasks.
Responsibilities
- Perform reupholstering using various upholstery techniques, including fabric and leather application, to restore furniture to its original or improved condition
- Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, sewing machines, and other equipment to cut fabric materials manually and mechanically with precision
- Conduct repairs on upholstery components such as padding, springs, frames, and fabric coverings while maintaining structural integrity
- Handle heavy lifting safely during furniture disassembly and assembly processes in accordance with manual handling best practices
- Apply woodworking skills for frame repairs or modifications as needed for furniture restoration project.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in upholstery repair, reupholstering techniques, or furniture manufacturing with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, sewing machines, and manual cutting equipment effectively and safely
- Knowledge of fabric materials such as leather and various upholstery fabrics; understanding their properties for optimal application
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling protocols
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship and finishing touches
- Excellent manual dexterity combined with the ability to interpret technical instructions accurately
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
