Work Schedule: Sunday - Tuesday 6pm - 6am & Wednesday 6pm to 12:00am
Shift Differential: This position, due to the work schedule, qualifies for a $2.00 per hour shift differential.
Summary
We are seeking Charcoal Kiln Operators to join our team at Timberland Forest Products. Operators will be responsible for working with a team to unload and load charcoal kilns, clean coal, move slabs, and deliver a quality product to the charcoal packaging operations team.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining all kiln controls and monitoring temperature of burners for efficiency.
- Collect and record data on computer from the kiln burns.
- Interpret data to determine correct actions for different variables inherent to the process. Make judgment calls regarding the data.
- Operate loader, burner and any other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Must be able to grasp the concepts and details to actively control the burn of the wood in the kiln.
- Make repairs or perform preventive maintenance on burners and kilns.
- Work safely around others and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with other employees.
- All other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year in a similar environment.
- Heavy Equipment experience.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a manufacturing environment.
- Good mechanical & mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to work in all types of environments.
- Excellent attendance and reliable transportation.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
