About the Role
RSR Holdings Inc. is seeking a reliable, customer-focused Sales Associate to join our 7-Eleven team in Chesapeake, Virginia. As the face of the store, you will deliver fast, friendly service while keeping operations running smoothly during evening and night shifts. This is a full-time position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in doing the job right.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, courteous assistance throughout their visit
- Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system accurately, processing cash, card, and mobile transactions
- Handle cash drawers responsibly, including accurate counting and balancing at shift start and end
- Process fuel transactions and assist customers at the pump as needed
- Prepare and maintain fresh food and beverage offerings — coffee, roller grill items, Slurpee machines, and fountain drinks
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays; rotate merchandise and ensure products are properly faced and priced
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment including restrooms, counters, and parking areas
- Promote the 7-Eleven Rewards loyalty program and suggestive-sell relevant products to customers
- Verify customer age and comply with all state regulations when selling age-restricted products (tobacco, alcohol, lottery)
- Monitor store for loss prevention and follow all security and safety procedures
- Communicate low-inventory items and operational issues to the store manager in a timely manner
- Perform opening and closing duties as assigned for the evening/night shift
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in retail, customer service, convenience store, or food service is a plus — but not required; we will train the right person
- Basic math skills and comfort handling cash transactions
- Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in helping customers
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain composure during busy periods
- Must be 18 years of age or older (required for tobacco and alcohol sales)
- Availability to work full-time evening and/or night shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated with a positive attitude
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of an entire shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. when stocking merchandise
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures (cooler/freezer area access required)
