Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Deli Clerk to join our team! In this vital role, you will be the friendly face behind our deli counter, preparing and serving delicious food with enthusiasm while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers. Your passion for food service and excellent customer care will help us deliver an outstanding shopping experience.
Duties
- Prepare a variety of deli foods including sandwiches, salads, and cold cuts following food safety standards
- Serve customers efficiently at the deli counter, assisting with selections and upselling products to enhance their shopping experience
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for transactions, cash handling, and sales processing
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including food handling and sanitation practices
- Restock supplies and ensure proper food storage to meet quality standards
- Assist with bussing and cleaning duties to keep the deli area organized and inviting
- Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, food service or quick service & fast food restaurant environments
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; basic math skills for cash handling and retail math
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude; ability to upsell products effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices in a retail or restaurant setting
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Previous kitchen or culinary experience is a plus; familiarity with grocery store operations is beneficial
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
