Job Overview
Southern ID Associates is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team.
The ideal candidate will have experience with medical billing, insurance claims, denial follow-up, payment posting, and working aging reports. This position requires someone who is organized, accurate, and able to follow up consistently to help ensure claims are processed and paid in a timely manner.
Compensation to be determined on skill set and experience.
Responsibilities
This IS NOT a remote position. Our office is in Lewisville, TX.
- Review and submit medical claims accurately and timely
- Follow up on unpaid, rejected, or denied claims
- Work insurance denials, appeals, and reconsiderations as needed
- Post payments, adjustments, and review EOBs
- Review aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits when needed
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and payment issues
- Review documentation and billing information for accuracy
- Maintain accurate billing records and follow office billing procedures
- Assist with other billing-related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Medical billing experience REQUIRED
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and insurance billing guidelines preferred
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance preferred
- Experience with Tebra Billing System is a plus
- Well versed in computer and Microsoft office products such a Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and stay organized
- Good communication and follow-up skills
- Dependable and able to meet billing deadlines
