Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that foster literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and positive behavior management.
- Use classroom management techniques to promote respectful interactions and support children’s emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to support individual learning needs, including special education and early intervention strategies.
- Conduct assessments of children’s progress using standardized testing tools and provide regular updates to parents and caregivers.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, and mandated reporting laws related to child welfare.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development instruction, Montessori methods, or other educational approaches to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development and early childhood education best practices.
- Experience with curriculum development tailored for preschool-aged children, including literacy education and math fundamentals.
- Proven classroom experience working with young children in daycare or preschool settings.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention techniques, and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies to ensure compliance and safety.
- Experience with Montessori or other specialized educational frameworks is a plus.
