Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with the ability to work on various heavy equipment and vehicles. Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems.
- Conduct brake repairs, including air brake systems, to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose issues with heavy equipment and implement effective solutions.
- Utilize hand tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot mechanical problems.
- Repair HVAC systems as needed for vehicle comfort and functionality.
- Maintain hydraulic systems, ensuring all components are functioning correctly.
- Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely during repair processes.
- Document all repairs and maintenance performed on equipment for record-keeping purposes.
Skills
- Proficient in diesel engine repair with hands-on experience in the field.
- Knowledge of brake repair techniques, particularly air brake systems.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar machinery and its specific maintenance requirements is a plus.
- Experience in heavy equipment operation, ensuring safe handling during repairs.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and their application in various machinery.
- Ability to effectively use hand tools and diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
