We are seeking a proactive and versatile Residential Handyman / Home Repair Technician to join our dynamic team in the Fort Lauderdale area. Duties
- Perform a wide range of repair and maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and general handyman services.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters, welders, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical equipment.
- Conduct residential painting projects with attention to detail and quality standards.
- Supervise or assist with facilities maintenance activities, ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and quality expectations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with homeowners about repair needs, timelines, and solutions.
- Lead or support other team members in complex projects, demonstrating leadership and supervising experience when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience in residential repairs, facilities maintenance, or related fields with a focus on home improvement tasks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience; familiarity with schematics is essential.
- Ability to operate tools such as welders, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment confidently.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read technical schematics and perform troubleshooting based on detailed diagrams.
- Experience with residential painting techniques and general home repair standards.
