P’s Junk Removal & Demolition is hiring an experienced Lead Box Truck Driver / Demolition Crew Lead. This is a hands-on leadership position. We need someone who can safely operate our box truck and lead a crew on demolition, junk removal, cleanout, and hauling projects.
This is not a driving-only position. You will be expected to work alongside the crew while helping make sure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and correctly.
Pay: Paid working trial at $18/hour. Starting pay upon hire is $20/hour, with increases up to $21–$23/hour based on demonstrated leadership, box-truck experience, reliability, job-site performance, and ability to independently run jobs.
What You’ll Do:
- Drive and safely operate the company box truck
- Lead and direct crew members on job sites
- Help assign daily tasks and keep the crew working efficiently
- Communicate job instructions and expectations to crew members
- Perform interior/selective demolition, cleanouts, junk removal, hauling, loading, and cleanup
- Make dump, landfill, recycling, and material runs
- Properly load, distribute, and secure debris, tools, equipment, and materials
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Make sure company tools and equipment are accounted for
- Help enforce P’s safety procedures and job-site requirements
- Keep the job site organized and professional
- Communicate job-site problems, changes, damages, delays, or customer concerns to management
- Help ensure the crew completes the assigned scope of work
- Take job-site photos/documentation when required
- Represent P’s professionally when dealing with customers, contractors, property managers, and other trades
REQUIRED:
- Valid driver’s license
- Previous box-truck driving experience
- Acceptable driving record
- Previous demolition, construction, junk removal, hauling, moving, cleanout, or similar hands-on experience
- Previous crew-lead or leadership experience strongly preferred
- Ability to safely back and maneuver a box truck
- Ability to lead workers while also performing physical work
- Ability to understand and follow job instructions
- Dependable and punctual
- Strong communication skills
- Able to lift, carry, load, unload, bend, climb, and perform physically demanding work
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Steel-toe work boots required
We need someone who can take ownership of the job, not someone who needs to be told what to do every few minutes. You should be able to keep a crew moving, recognize problems, communicate with management, protect company equipment, and help get the job completed correctly.
This is a working lead position. You will lead from the front and work alongside your crew.
Previous box-truck driving experience and a valid driver’s license are required.
