Join the Missouri Veterans Home as a Lead Worker in our Environmental Services Department. As a Custodial Worker, you will play an essential part in creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our Veterans. Our team takes pride in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our Homes, ensuring that every resident, family member, visitor, and team member feels like they are part of a caring community.
Hourly Pay: $17.77
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
Examples of Work:
- Assist supervisor in ensuring overall cleanliness of facility
- Prepare assignments as requested by supervisor, i.e. daily assignments, weekly, monthly, quarterly and special projects
- Provide input or supportive documentation regarding housekeeping employees’ performance
- Assist in the preparation of schedules/assignments for weekly, monthly, quarterly and special projects
- Coordinate with Purchasing to purchase needed equipment and supplies for department as requested by supervisor
- Ensure safe handling and storage of cleaning supplies
- Assist in scheduling cleaning services to coordinate with resident’s daily routine and preferences
- Ensure housekeeping/laundry personnel respect resident rights, particularly privacy and confidentiality
- Ensure safe work practices are adhered to and personnel are knowledgeable in handling chemical and machinery
- Perform cleaning duties, such as wash, mop, dust, sweep, vacuum, sanitize, and wax, in common areas and Veteran's bedrooms and bathrooms
- Pick up trash cans or litter routinely
- Climb ladders, stairwells, or steps to reach objects
- Walk long distances and remain in standing position for extended periods
- Operate large and small power-driven machinery such as a vacuum sweeper, buffer, or other similarly sized equipment
