Cooks must be proficient with a wok.
Cooks must have experience with Asian dishes and know or pick up quickly the ingredients for our Cantonese and Thai dishes.
We are open 7 days a week. The work shift is 4 days/week on a 10 hour work shift. Arrive at 10 am to prep and sanitize and get ready for the day. One hour of break time total, may be a half hour lunch with a few smaller breaks and the kitchen staff is allowed a meal per shift.
Duties
Prepare and cook menu items as the orders come in. When the restaurant slows down you will be expected to help clean.
Ensure that all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations. Food safety manager certificate or willing to get one (we will pay for the training) is required.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, utensils, and equipment.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Line Cook or similar role in a high-volume Asian restaurant with wok skills. We use advanced wok technique and will train the right person, however, you must have some basic knowledge and skill with wok cooking.
You need to be able to get to work on time and reliably.
Working Interview - What to Expect:
Initial Screening will begin with the owner. Looking for good work ethic.
Candidates will then go on to a paid working interview with the head chef. You will want to read our menu ingredients on our website and get a good sense of what we put in each dish. You may start by preparing the wok ingredients for the chef then later show your wok skills. We can show you the final touches, but please take some time to learn the dishes so that you can get the ingredients memorized. This is where prior experience in Asian cuisine helps.
