Job Overview
Daxor Corporation is seeking a highly motivated, versatile, and technical Nuclear Medicine & Radioisotope Processing Technologist to join our team in Oak Ridge, TN. This unique hybrid position splits time roughly equally between conducting diagnostic operations in our reference laboratory and driving production capabilities for medical radioisotopes in our processing facility.
The ideal candidate is an experienced radiological worker who can seamlessly bridge the gap between technical reference lab protocols and precision radiopharmaceutical manufacturing. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, cutting-edge medical technology environment focused on the next generation of medical radioisotopes.
Key Responsibilities
Part 1: Reference Lab Operations (~50%)
- Diagnostic Testing: Perform diagnostic tests in Daxor’s reference lab per formal protocols and SOPs.
- Quality Control & Assurance: Perform equipment quality checks and monitoring activities. Formally document results and assist with the development and implementation of overall QC/QA practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Accurately document test methods, protocols, procedures, and results in strict compliance with FDA cGMP, radiation health safety, and State regulations.
- Lab Maintenance: Responsible for the setup, cleaning, and scheduling of vendor maintenance and calibration for reference lab equipment.
Part 2: Radioisotope Processing & Production (~50%)
- Batch Production: Perform production operations related to in-process (IPC) and finished drug product (FDP) batch production, utilizing chemical purification techniques and isotope production activities.
- Aseptic Processing: Safely handle radioactive samples utilizing ISO 5 (Class 100) Cleanroom laminar flow hoods as primary engineering controls, maintaining strict aseptic technique.
- Facility & Equipment Validation: Responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, qualification, environmental monitoring, and process validation activities for all clean facilities, laminar flow hoods, and production cycles.
- Waste Management: Adhere strictly to radiological contamination control, cleanroom protocols, and radiological waste management procedures.
Qualifications & RequirementsEducation & Certifications
- Required: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree (AS) or equivalent in physical, chemical, or engineering sciences.
Experience & Technical Skills
We are looking for candidates who possess a strong foundation in some of the following key areas. On the job training will serve to expand the right individual’s skill set to fill some gaps in experience.
- Radiological Safety: Relevant experience as a radiological worker safely handling radioactive samples, with thorough knowledge of radiation safety guidelines.
- Cleanroom Operations: Proven experience working within an ISO-classified cleanroom environment utilizing laminar flow hoods.
- Laboratory & Production: Experience in wet-chemistry operations, nuclear detection methods, and working knowledge of laboratory software.
- Regulatory Frameworks: Experience in quality assurance documentation, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and/or current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Pay: $70,000.00 - $93,000.00 per year
