Summary:
The Behavioral Technician is a paraprofessional who practices under ongoing supervision of the
special education department. The Behavioral Technician is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of student-specific behavior management/support services.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED.

Some experience in working with children - required.

Minimum of sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited post-secondary institution or career

technical facility; or an Associate’s Degree; or successfully completed the ParaPro
-
Assessment. Behavioral training, not limited to certification as a Registered Behavior Technician, is preferred.

Bilingual skills are preferred.

This position requires periods of standing; some walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Implement student-specific behavior management/support plans under the supervision of the BCBA, Principal, and in consultation with the classroom teacher.

Assist classroom teacher in gathering data specific to the student-specific goals for assigned students.

Work with assigned students to reinforce material introduced by teacher.

Assist assigned students with self-regulation during large and small group activities.
-
Provide daily updates on assigned students’ progress toward mastery of behavioral goals.

Provide redirection to assigned students when behavior effects the student’s learning or learning of others.

Supervise assigned students during unstructured time such as lunch and recess.

Coordinate with school and division teams to support comprehensive behavioral programming.

Perform related work as required.
Salary:
Range for 2026-2027 is $19.57 to $30.14 per hour.

Full time/10 month (183 days) position, 7 hours per day
