American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Wound Care unit position requiring WOCN certification and at least 2 years of wound/ostomy care experience.

Work in the Wound Care unit of a hospital and clinic setting
-
Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed

Uses Epic charting system
-
Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
-
Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse (WOCN)

Minimum 2 years of experience required

Epic charting system experience required
-
Skilled in colostomy/ileostomy management and care
-
Skilled in continence therapeutic devices, catheter management, and incontinence programs
-
Skilled in wound and ulcer assessment and management including neuropathic, peripheral arterial, pressure, and venous status ulcers

Skilled in pressure ulcer staging (Stage I-IV)

Skilled in wound treatments and dressings including alginates, debriding agents, foams, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, silver products, and wound vac therapy

Skilled in mechanical and sharp debridement techniques

Provide comprehensive wound, ostomy, and continence care to patients
-
Perform wound and ulcer assessments and implement management plans across various wound types
-
Manage colostomy, ileostomy, and catheter care with patient self-care teaching
-

Local candidates accepted at the same rate

Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission

Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)

If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday time off can be requested
-
If three major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday time off request may be considered
-
Previous employees must be away from all facilities within the health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
