Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Our practice provides high quality women's health and obstetric care. This position requires hands-on patient care, taking patient medical histories, assisting providers with procedures, collecting and preparing lab specimens, preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician, effective communication skills, and a willingness to work as a team member. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing a broad range of medical skills and knowledge to improve patient outcomes. The Medical Assistant will be integral in ensuring efficient clinic operations while maintaining high standards of patient service and safety.
The ideal candidate will be efficient, dependable, positive, hardworking, and a team player. A medical assistant certification is preferred, but not required. Previous experience in a medical field is ideal.

Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting chief complaints
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Assist with patient examinations and procedures
- Support physicians with medication administration, injections, and basic wound care as needed
- Operate EHR systems accurately for documentation of patient encounters and medical records management
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and sterilize equipment following infection control protocols
- Assist with ICD coding and documentation for billing purposes
- Support laboratory procedures including specimen collection
- Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication instructions, and health maintenance
Experience
- Prior experience in outpatient clinics or hospital settings preferred; experience in obstetrics and gynecology is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience with medical administrative support tasks such as appointment scheduling and insurance documentation is a plus
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology essential for accurate documentation and billing processes
- Experience working within outpatient environments
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly in fast-paced settings is highly valued

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
