Job Summary
Family Fresh Food Service is a fresh-cut fruit and vegetable processing company producing products for food service, school snacks, and home meal replacement, and is the in-house processing division for Nickey Gregory Company, located on the Atlanta State Farmers Market/Produce Terminal and Market, Forest Park GA.
The High Speed Cutting Machine Operator is responsible for maintaining and operating high speed cutting equipment. The high-speed machine operator sets up, runs, and monitors high speed production cutting machinery (Urschel Translicer, Urschel E-Translicer, Urschel Sprint, and Kronen machines). Responsibilities include loading materials, adjusting machine parameters (e.g. speed, tension, blade set-up), troubleshooting, and inspecting finished products for correct cut specifications and defects.
Responsibilities
- Calibrate and prepare machinery for production runs
- Observe high-speed machinery to ensure efficient operation and compliance with specifications
- Maintain a tidy and organized workspace; ensuring cleanliness throughout your tasks
- Clean, sanitize, and set-up cutting equipment for the desired cut size for each product
- Follow food safety procedures and guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing the machine between commodities, and at the end of shift
- Follow strict safety protocols, including wearing PPE (e.g. safety glasses, aprons, gloves)
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- Previous experience with high-speed processing machinery
- Capable of working in a cold environment; approximately 35 degrees
- Standing is required for most of the shift (not including breaks)
- Above average coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot and balance
- Normal dexterity of hands and fingers with average repetition
- Bending, stooping, kneeling and crouching
- Ability to push up to 50 lbs
- Ability to pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Company operates Sunday through Saturday shifts. Candidate must be able to work a five (5) day work schedule anytime within the production days, Sunday through Saturday, and overtime as required. 1st and 2nd shifts available
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
