Duties
- Operate a variety of heavy construction machinery including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, backhoes, and water trucks to perform excavation, grading, paving, and utility installation tasks
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to equipment safety procedures
- Assist with construction utility work such as utility locating and installation to support infrastructure projects
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment for all team members
- Support construction site activities by performing excavation tasks and site grading with precision and efficiency
- Coordinate with team members to execute construction plans accurately while adhering to project timelines
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and safety checks
Skills
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation including excavators, dozers, graders, loaders, backhoes, and water trucks
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing basic repairs on construction machinery
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures to ensure compliance at all times
- Skilled in commercial truck driving with experience operating Caterpillar machinery preferred
- Ability to perform construction grading, excavation, paving, and utility work confidently on various sites
- Familiarity with construction site experience and utility locating techniques
- Excellent understanding of construction safety regulations and heavy equipment operation standards
