Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a wide range of construction machinery to facilitate building projects, site development, and infrastructure improvements. Your expertise will ensure that all operations are performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with occupational safety regulations. Duties
- Operate heavy machinery including bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, water trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, front loader trucks, and tanker trucks to execute construction tasks effectively.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
- Assist with site preparation activities such as grading, excavating, loading/unloading materials, and moving earth or debris.
- Follow all safety protocols by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to occupational safety regulations at all times.
- Coordinate with project managers and team members to ensure timely delivery of materials and smooth workflow on-site.
- Operate specialized machinery like concrete mixers and farm equipment as needed for specific project requirements.
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment usage, inspections, repairs, and safety checks to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating construction machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and other heavy equipment on construction sites.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on various types of construction machinery..
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and occupational safety standards.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and quality.
- Knowledge of construction site procedures including material handling and site logistics management.
- Certification or experience in crane operation is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
