Lead Line Cook – Italian & Pizza Restaurant
We are seeking an experienced, motivated Lead Line Cook to join our busy, high-volume Italian and pizza restaurant. Position Overview
The Lead Line Cook plays a critical role in the daily success of our kitchen operations. This position is responsible for leading the line during busy lunch and dinner services, training and mentoring kitchen staff, maintaining food quality and consistency, and helping ensure smooth kitchen operations from opening through closing.
This position reports directly to the Kitchen Manager and Ownership and works closely with both the Kitchen Manager and General Manager on staffing and scheduling needs.
Responsibilities
- Open and prepare the kitchen and restaurant for daily service
- Lead and direct kitchen staff during high-volume lunch and dinner services
- Train, coach, and mentor line cooks and kitchen team members
- Ensure quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained
- Effectively multitask and work efficiently under pressure
- Prepare and manage daily prep lists and inventory needs
- Assist with ordering and inventory control as directed
- Oversee kitchen cleanup and closing procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager and General Manager on staff scheduling
- Communicate effectively with management regarding kitchen operations and staffing
Qualifications
- Previous line cook experience required; leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience in Italian cuisine and/or pizza production is highly desirable
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform physical kitchen duties
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented attitude
