Position Title: Lead Support
Reports To: Site Creative Captain, Program Manager, Assistant Program Manager
Position Type: Part-Time (School Year & Intersession Opportunities)
Position Summary
The Lead Support is a key member of the Creative ArtReach team who provides leadership and operational support across one or more program sites. This position works alongside the Site Creative Captain to help ensure the daily success of the program while serving as a leader for Creative Crew members.
Lead Supports assist with student supervision, behavior management, activity coordination, family engagement, and staff support. They are expected to step into leadership responsibilities whenever the Site Creative Captain is unavailable and help maintain a safe, organized, engaging, and positive learning environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, flexible, and enjoys mentoring staff while creating meaningful experiences for students.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Program Support
- Assist the Site Creative Captain with daily program operations.
- Help prepare activity spaces before students arrive.
- Support daily schedules, transitions, and program flow.
- Ensure classrooms and common areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Assist with setup and cleanup of activities and special events.
- Help maintain inventory and notify leadership when supplies need replenishing.
Student Supervision
- Supervise students during all program activities.
- Conduct head counts and assist with attendance verification.
- Monitor transitions between classrooms, playgrounds, and activity areas.
- Build positive relationships with students while promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
- Encourage student participation and positive peer interactions.
- Follow all student supervision and safety procedures.
Behavior Support
- Assist with implementing Creative ArtReach's Positive Behavior Support system.
- Redirect inappropriate behaviors using positive intervention strategies.
- Support students with behavioral or emotional needs.
- Document minor behavior concerns and communicate significant incidents to the Site Creative Captain.
- Help reinforce behavior expectations consistently across the program.
Staff Leadership
- Serve as a positive role model for Creative Crew members.
- Provide guidance and assistance to newer staff.
- Help answer questions and ensure staff understand daily expectations.
- Support substitute staff during assignments.
- Assist with maintaining proper staff-to-student ratios.
- Step into leadership responsibilities when requested.
Family Engagement
- Welcome families during student pick-up.
- Assist with student sign-out procedures.
- Verify authorized adults and identification when required.
- Communicate routine information to families in a professional manner.
- Refer sensitive concerns to the Site Creative Captain or administration.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Creative ArtReach policies and procedures.
- Maintain student confidentiality.
- Assist with emergency drills and emergency response procedures.
- Complete incident, injury, and behavior reports as assigned.
- Help ensure all safety standards are maintained throughout the site.
- Report hazards or concerns immediately.
Administrative Support
- Assist with attendance tracking.
- Help organize required paperwork.
- Support data collection and documentation.
- Assist with preparing materials for activities and special events.
- Complete assigned administrative tasks accurately and on time.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 48 credits or Para Educator certification.
- Experience working with children in an educational, recreational, childcare, or youth development setting.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Mandated Reporter Training (or ability to complete upon hire).
- DOJ/FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
- TB Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership experience in youth programs.
- Experience with after-school, expanded learning, ELO-P, or ASES programs.
- Associate's degree or coursework in Education, Child Development, Recreation, Theatre, or a related field.
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and participate in active games and recreational activities.
- Ability to supervise students indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
Work Environment
Lead Supports work in elementary school environments, including classrooms, multipurpose rooms, cafeterias, playgrounds, and outdoor recreation spaces. The role requires flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, child-centered environment.

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
