Position Summary:
Reporting directly to the distribution facility Operations Manager, our Warehouse Supervisor is expected to be able to operate our distribution process, from the picking of product to shipping out to our retail customers. The main emphasis and priority for our 2nd Shift Supervisors are the ability to work with, train, and lead our people. Strong positive-culture-building is critical to our operations and retention of good employees in our facilities as well. Overall, the need for our Warehouse Supervisor primarily lies in the ability to develop the culture mentioned above and develop our employees to be the best versions of themselves in their daily job functions. The hours may vary but the time that the shift starts is at 11am. And the days are Sunday through Thursday, and the supervisor has to be here before 11am to get things started. The shift is normally 11am until production is complete, but normally before 11pm.
Duties include:
· Managing the overall operations and flow of the Distribution Center’s Pick Shift Team
· Helping with processing and preparing trucks (in whatever capacity the DC requires) and zones for that day’s pick in a timely manner for your shift.
· Weekly staff meetings to check in on and communicate our staff progression on the Pick Shift Team.
· Coordinates work assignments (who goes to what zone – be efficient!), monitors performance (making sure your zones are on schedule with expected time to finish) and provides training on job duties, company policies and procedures are being followed.
· Evaluates all aspects of employee performance and provide coaching or discipline as needed. (Reference using the 10-10-10 rule, of 10 minutes per zone working with and in those zones with your employees to help develop and train, as well as see needed changes).
· Helping improve or develop procedures that will result in employee satisfaction and/or efficiencies for your Pick Shift Team. (RF Equipment Check In, Attendance Policies, Team Building Events, etc.)
· Collaborate with “First Shift” Supervisor or Operation Manager to make sure products are stocked correctly and on schedule.
· Help the Operation Manager keep track of needs for RF Equipment for the Pick Shift Team.
· Participates in interviewing candidates for related shifts.
· Makes sure all safety practices are adhered to.
· All other duties and projects as assigned.
Skills & Attributes
· Supervision of multiple pick zones and team members
· Demonstrated ability to comprehend and communicate needs and processes
· Ability to manage one’s own time without direct supervision and to manage multiple priorities
· Personable and patient to be able to interact, support, and train staff
· Comparable computer skills including AS400 systems, Excel, and other needed RF functions
· Be a self-starter and take initiative, such as implementing more efficient processes
Experience and Education:
· Minimum 3-5 years of leadership or management experience
· Experience using efficient computer operating abilities (listed in Skills & Attributes)
· Reasonable Suspicion training and certification
· OSHA regulation familiarity and knowledge
