Travel RN - PACU

Job Details

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring 3 years of PACU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Work in the PACU department of a hospital setting
Patient population includes surgical patients requiring pre and post-operative care across specialties such as general, ortho, GYN, urology, and ENT
Patient ratio is 1:1 approximately 95% of the time
Utilizes Epic charting system
Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM
Rotational weekend call required

Active VA or compact RN license required, in-hand at time of consideration
Required certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS (AHA ACLS meets BLS requirement); PALS also required
Minimum 3 years of PACU experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Community hospital experience preferred
Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and central line care
Experience with cardiac monitoring, arterial line management, and dysrhythmia recognition
Proficient in pre/post-operative patient care including consent, assessment, education, and discharge instructions
Knowledge of various anesthesia types including general, spinal, MAC, and nerve blocks
BSN required for international travelers

Provide comprehensive pre and post-operative nursing care across multiple surgical specialties
Participate in nursing student support and clinical education as part of care team responsibilities
General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBL modules, averaging 4-5 hours
Must reside 100+ miles from the facility's service area; local candidates are not accepted
Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
Candidates must be available to complete drug testing within 12-14 calendar days prior to start, including potential retesting
RTO must be submitted for consideration
First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
