Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Commercial Plumbing Foreman to lead and oversee plumbing operations on large-scale commercial construction sites. This role is integral to ensuring that plumbing systems are installed, maintained, and repaired efficiently, safely, and in strict compliance with all building codes and project specifications. As a key leader on the job site, you will coordinate teams, manage materials, and ensure that all work meets quality standards while adhering to safety regulations. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of plumbing crews on commercial construction sites, ensuring work is completed on time and within scope
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide installation and repair tasks
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including gas piping systems, pipe threading, and heavy-duty pipefitting in accordance with local building codes and safety standards
- Lead welding, assembly, remodeling, and handyman tasks related to plumbing systems while utilizing power tools and hand tools effectively
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations such as OSHA standards; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to promote a safe work environment
- Manage materials inventory, order supplies as needed, and oversee proper use of construction tools including pipe threading machines, power tools, and hand tools
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to interpret construction plans and ensure seamless integration of plumbing systems into overall building projects
- Conduct field service activities including troubleshooting mechanical issues within plumbing or HVAC systems during construction or maintenance phases
- Train team members on proper techniques for pipe installation, welding, schematics reading, and adherence to building code compliance
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction plumbing with a strong background in commercial projects; familiarity with residential plumbing is a plus
- Extensive knowledge of building code compliance related to plumbing systems at the local level
- Skilled in welding, pipe threading, schematic interpretation, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge of plumbing components
- Ability to operate power tools such as pipe threaders, saws, drills along with hand tools efficiently
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety regulations; OSHA certification preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining high standards of quality workmanship
- Physical ability for heavy lifting, climbing ladders/scaffolding, standing for long periods, and performing manual tasks in various weather conditions
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or ability to obtain one is advantageous for site travel or equipment transport purposes
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations related to pipe sizes and system layouts
