American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, prior travel experience, and an active SC or Compact RN license.

Stepdown unit in a hospital setting with 12 staffed beds
-
Patient ratio of 1:4
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirements

Floating within scope required, consistent with staff nurse expectations; travelers float first

Charting via Epic (preferred experience)

Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be fully licensed before starting

Current AHA certifications required: ACLS and BLS
-
NIHSS certification preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required

First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Required skills include IV therapy, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, blood product administration, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and non-invasive airway management

SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; locals are not accepted

Previous permanent or PRN staff of the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; RTO requests submitted after the offer process will not be accepted

Pre-start orientation modules are required and completed before the assignment begins (approximately 4 hours)
