Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors.
- Follow food safety protocols and handle food properly to maintain hygiene standards at all times.
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming dishes and offering input on new recipes.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances through regular cleaning and sanitation.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while adhering to portion control and presentation standards.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food service environment, such as restaurants or catering settings.
- Strong culinary skills including knife techniques, slicing methods, and food preparation.
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food handling practices.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency across dishes.
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus.
