Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of accounting, financial analysis, compliance, and reporting, driving strategic financial planning and maintaining regulatory adherence. Ideally we would like to find a licensed CPA for this role, this is a high volume, large scale pawn shop operation as in one of the largest operations in the USA currently.
Duties
- Manage and oversee the entire accounting cycle, including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll processing.
- Lead the preparation of accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, including cost accounting analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance accounting standards such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) and governmental accounting regulations for nonprofit or public entities.
- Oversee cash management activities including treasury management, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity optimization.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports for internal stakeholders and external regulators, ensuring clarity and transparency in all disclosures.
- Implement and maintain robust accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or other financial software to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.
- Conduct internal controls testing and support audit processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage accounts reconciliation processes for balance sheets, including accounts receivable/payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger review.
- Lead efforts in technical accounting issues such as double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits management, and complex account analyses.
Experience
- Proven experience in financial management roles with a strong background in corporate accounting within nonprofit or governmental sectors preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, regulatory reporting requirements, and international accounting standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage accounting teams effectively while fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.
- Hands-on experience with financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero or similar platforms; proficiency in Excel data analysis is essential.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, cost accounting analysis, and financial close processing.
- Prior experience in public accounting or finance roles involving audit coordination is advantageous.
- Excellent skills in financial report writing combined with analytical thinking to interpret complex data sets for strategic insights.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
