Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development for school-age children
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques
- Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Foster a supportive environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and individual growth
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop engaging curricula that incorporate elements of sports coaching, theater arts, or other enrichment activities
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, needs, and any concerns that arise
- Maintain accurate attendance records and activity logs while ensuring compliance with childcare regulations and standards
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to create an organized and respectful learning environment
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development best practices
- Experience in working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting roles
- Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively to medical emergencies or behavioral issues
- Familiarity with special education needs and inclusive teaching strategies
- Excellent communication skills to engage children positively and collaborate with parents and team members
- Passion for nurturing children's growth through creative activities like theater or sports coaching
