The Wright Inn, a historic bed and breakfast in beautiful Asheville, NC, is looking for a self-motivated Groundskeeper to take full ownership of our property’s outdoor areas.
As our Groundskeeper, you’ll be the go-to person for maintaining the charm and beauty of our property. Here’s what you’ll be working on: - Caring for the grounds: Mowing, edging, planting, pruning, and maintaining seasonal flower beds. - Watering and upkeep: Ensuring flower beds, planters, and landscaped areas stay hydrated and healthy. - Outdoor maintenance: Keeping walkways, driveways, and parking areas clean and safe. - Light exterior work: Power washing, checking gutters, and handling minor repairs. - Monitoring and problem-solving: Addressing drainage or watering issues as they arise. - Equipment care: Maintaining and organizing tools and equipment. - Proactive attention: Identifying and addressing grounds needs before anyone has to ask.
We’re seeking someone with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently. Here’s what will make you a great fit: - Experience: At least 1 year of groundskeeping, landscaping, or property maintenance experience is preferred. - Self-starter mentality: You know what needs to be done and take initiative without constant direction. - Skills with equipment: Comfortable using standard lawn and garden tools. - Reliable and responsible: You have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and can track your time and progress effectively. - Physical readiness: Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in all kinds of weather. - Pride in your work: You treat the property like it’s your own and strive to keep it looking its best.
