About the Opportunity
Lee County Youth Development Center (LCYDC) is seeking an experienced, hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Executive Leadership Team.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the CFO will provide strategic and operational leadership for the organization's financial functions. This leader will be responsible for strengthening financial operations, ensuring sound fiscal management, improving processes and controls, and providing the financial insight needed to support LCYDC's mission and long-term sustainability.
We are looking for a financial leader who can operate at both the strategic and hands-on level—someone who is comfortable advising executive leadership while also digging into budgets, financial reports, cash flow, audits, grants, controls, and day-to-day financial operations.
What You'll Do
As CFO, you will:
- Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the Executive Director and organizational leadership.
- Lead the annual operating and capital budgeting processes.
- Oversee financial forecasting, cash-flow planning, and long-range financial planning.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting.
- Oversee accounting operations and maintain appropriate financial controls.
- Strengthen internal controls, financial policies, procedures, and compliance practices.
- Lead and coordinate annual audits and support regulatory and funding-related reviews.
- Provide financial oversight of grants, contracts, and other funding arrangements.
- Oversee cash management, banking, and treasury activities.
- Partner closely with Human Resources regarding payroll processes and financial controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Develop financial dashboards and reporting that help organizational leaders make informed decisions.
- Lead, coach, and develop members of the Finance team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of progressively responsible financial management experience.
- At least 5 years of finance leadership or management experience.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, internal controls, and financial systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable information for non-financial leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work collaboratively across an organization.
