Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our optometry practice. This position involves assisting with various clinical tasks, managing patient records, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the office. A strong background in retail sales and optical knowledge is preferred.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in procedures.
- Conduct preliminary eye exams, including taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
- Manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist optometrists during examinations and procedures.
- Provide education to patients regarding eye health and vision care.
- Help patients select eyewear and explain lens options, utilizing retail math skills for accurate pricing.
- Maintain an organized inventory of optical products and supplies.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Optometric Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Strong understanding of optical products and retail sales techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of medical records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient information.
- A positive attitude, teamwork mentality, and willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
