Mulberry Primary Care is a growing, patient-centered family medicine practice seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. We are looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, energetic, and passionate about providing exceptional patient care. This position requires an individual who is comfortable working in both the front office and back office while thriving in a fast-paced primary care environment.

Clinic Hours: Tuesday-Friday (9-5pm) and every other Saturday (9am-1pm)
Responsibilities Front Office
- Welcome patients with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Answer multi-line phones and schedule appointments efficiently.
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations.
- Collect co-pays and outstanding balances.
- Check patients in and out.
- Process referrals and medical records requests.
- Maintain accurate patient demographics and documentation in the EMR.
Back Office
- Room patients and prepare them for their visit.
- Obtain and accurately document vital signs.
- Perform medication reconciliation and update medical histories.
- Assist providers during examinations and office procedures.
- Administer injections and immunizations.
- Perform EKGs, spirometry, ear irrigations, point-of-care testing, and other clinical procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy and collect blood specimens using proper techniques.
- Process laboratory specimens for transport.
- Complete prior authorizations accurately and promptly to prevent delays in patient care.
- Follow up on prior authorization approvals, denials, and appeals.
- Communicate with insurance companies, pharmacies, specialists, and patients regarding prior authorizations and medication requests.
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms.
- Document all patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Qualifications
- Experience in a primary care or family medicine setting preferred.
- Experience working in both the front office and back office is required.
- Phlebotomy experience is required.
- Experience completing prior authorizations is strongly preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR); AdvancedMD experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team.
- Professional appearance and excellent customer service skills.
