Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary and middle school students with speech and language needs in the Montgomery area. You’ll play a crucial role in fostering communication skills and empowering young learners, with the benefit of working a full-time weekly schedule across one or sometimes two school sites.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellow (CF) status
- Current Alabama SLP license
- Professional educator license for Alabama (requirements can be confirmed via the state certification website)
- Experience in school-based settings preferred, particularly with elementary and middle school aged children
- Willingness to supervise if holding CCC status
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language services to a caseload of around 60 students
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of speech, language, and communication disorders
- Collaborate closely with teachers, families, and special education teams to promote student progress
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in accordance with school and district standards
- May be assigned to one or two school sites, with primary focus on providing onsite therapy
- Oversee or mentor Clinical Fellows if qualified
