We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Patient Registration Representative to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and verify their identity using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks.
- Collect and input comprehensive patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and demographic data, ensuring accuracy for billing and clinical purposes.
- Review and update patient documentation in accordance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies to protect patient privacy.
- Schedule appointments using medical office management software and coordinate care plans with clinical staff.
- Assist patients with health insurance inquiries, including Medicare and Medicaid processes, explaining coverage details and documenting relevant information.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) management tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized medical records.
- Handle phone communication with professionalism, providing excellent customer service while managing appointment scheduling and answering patient inquiries.
- Perform clerical duties including filing, 10 key typing, and data entry to support clinic operations efficiently.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow from registration through treatment or follow-up visits.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical collection processes, billing procedures, and health insurance terminology including CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; experience with electronic health records management is highly preferred.
- Excellent computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Office applications for documentation review and administrative support.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Prior clinic or hospital experience is highly desirable; familiarity with medical terminology and medical office procedures is essential.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with phone etiquette and professional communication abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail in documentation review and compliance with HIPAA regulations ensures patient confidentiality at all times.
- Experience with medical scheduling, front desk operations, and medical receptionist duties enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
- Knowledge of health information management practices related to medical records filing and electronic health record (EHR) management is critical for accuracy and efficiency.
