Job Title: Medical Assistant - Toxicology Specimen Collector
Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and experienced Medical Assistant to join our clinic team as a Toxicology Specimen Collector. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting toxicology specimens from patients visiting the clinic and ensuring the safe and accurate handling of the specimens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients who visit the clinic for toxicology specimen collection.
- Ensure patients understand the procedure and obtain their informed consent.
- Collect specimens from patients, following proper protocols and safety measures.
- Label the collected specimens accurately and in a timely manner.
- Properly store and transport collected specimens according to established guidelines.
- Completing the Test requisition with all the mandatory information with accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of specimen collection, including patient information and test requisitions.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the collection area, including ensuring that all equipment and supplies are stocked and properly stored.
- Assist with other administrative tasks in the clinic as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in toxicology specimen collection preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Basic computer skills and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
