Valley Pain Service is a private practice located in the Federal Way, Washington. We are proud to serve patients from all over the Pacific Northwest region due to our excellent reputation. Our mission is to treat patients with chronic pain conditions using both medication management and interventional treatment procedures. We are seeking a full time experienced Physicians Assistant or Advanced Registered nurse practitioner who desires private practice setting in a comprehensive pain clinic.
Job Duties
- Performing physical examinations and obtaining, updating, and recording medical histories.
- Formulating a diagnoses
- Developing and implementing a plan of care for patients including the scheduling of interventional pain procedures and medication management.
- Prescribing medications and therapies as appropriate.
- Making appropriate referrals for consultations.
- Completes appropriate documentation of all evaluations, care, and services rendered in the electronic medical record.
- Providing counseling and patient education for recommended interventional procedures to patients and families.
- Communicating with referring or primary care physicians regarding patient care and treatment.
- Coordinating care with referrals.

Educational Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner program
- Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination certification or Nurse Practitioner exam.
- Must be current with continuing medical education requirements.
- Must have active DEA license and Washington State Medical Licensure
Occupational Experience/ Personal Attributes
The physician assistant or nurse practitioner must be competent in the interpretation of a patient's self-report or behavior and this information must be interpreted with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological effects of pain. The treatment of patients should be individualized and should reflect an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient.
- One to three years of previous experience in a pain management medical clinic is desirable.
- Ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and other clinic staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families, providers, and other clinic staff.
- Possesses knowledge of medical terminology and ability to document appropriately in electronic medical records.
- Knowledge of appropriate medical advice to offer patients and of the legal implications involved.
Job Types: Full-time
Pay: $155,000 - $170,000 per year.
