The Student Business Center Student Tutor is responsible for tutoring students in a variety of business courses as well as providing general assistance to students visiting the Center.

Minimum Education/Experience
Successful completion of 3 credit hours of economics or accounting.
AND
Current OCCC student enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the Fall or Spring semester or enrolled in a minimum of 3 hours for the Summer semester
OR
Current OCCC student with a Federal Work Study award.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge and ability to assist students in economics, accounting, and business related activities.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Desire to aid students learning in economics and business subjects.
Strong basic math skills.
Ability to work with a diverse student population effectively.
Basic Computer/Internet skills.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium work: This position requires the person to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force and frequently exert up to 20 pounds of force and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, faculty, staff, and others to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to frequently move about the Accounting/Business Lab to assist students and perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to occasionally position self to work on lab equipment, to assist customers, and to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to operate a computer and other accounting lab/office machinery to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor lab, classroom, and/or office setting.
